If I do... / If I did... Tre llojet kryesore

Kushtorja 0 (Fakte shkencore dhe rregulla të përgjithshme):
IF + Present Simple, Present Simple.
If you heat ice, it melts. (Nëse ngroh akull, ai shkrin.)

Kushtorja e 1-rë (Situata të mundshme reale në të ardhmen):
IF + Present Simple, WILL + Folje bazë.
If it rains tomorrow, we will stay home. (Nëse bie shi nesër, do rrimë brenda.)

Kushtorja e 2-të (Situata imagjinare ose jo reale):
IF + Past Simple, WOULD + Folje bazë.
If I won the lottery, I would buy a house. (Nëse do fitoja lotarinë — por nuk e fitoj — do blija shtëpi.)
Kujdes: Pas "If I were" (jo "was") për të qenë formale: If I were you, I would apologize.
